To my beautiful

Emeli Caulfield

Emeli, on your first Holy Communion, I want you to know how proud we are of you. I have wrote this so that you can have a permanent reminder of how your light impacts my life.

Emeli, our eldest daughter. You are the daughter that made me and your dad parents. You have always been such a good little girl, always striving to make people laugh and smile! You do it effortlessly. You are truly growing into such a beautiful, kind, caring and funny young lady and as a Mum i couldn’t ask for anything more.

I know that today we will be missing a special someone. I know you will be thinking of Dad and I will too but I can’t tell you how proud he would be of you and the girl you are. I can see his big smile now, ear to ear, eyes filling up as he looks at you with so much pride like he always has done. You have always been his pride and joy and you always will be! Please don’t ever forget that.

What a privilege!

Seeing you grow up is truly a pleasure. You always have a way to make all of us feel happy. Your infectious smile makes us smile. Your dancing, the shows, the jokes, the stories and of course the hugs. You are amazing please don’t forget that now or ever!

Is there anything you can’t do?

Emeli, I am your mum and should help to teach you the way through life but in all honesty you have thought me so many different lessons in life. You have shown me so many times that you can do anything you put your mind too! You always get back up, you always try to make better choices and you always try to be a good friend. You are honestly incredible. I remember your first ever rugby match. It was pouring down with rain you had me, your sister, Auntie Liz, Auntie Sammy, Uncle Lewis, Auntie Jessica all stood supporting you on the side line. The match was rough, the opposing team tackling technique was to pull hair. In the cold and rain you felt deflated and hurt, yet you stood up and chased that ball. At half time I wanted to pull you off that pitch and wrap you up in a cuddle in the car. Instead we all stood in awe of a little girl who was brave and fearless.

The best big sister.

Not to mention how lucky I am as your Mum but Jessica and Nichola are so lucky to have you as their sister. You always care for them…. yes also wind them up too haha! When Jessica had surgery we was apart for nearly a week in total. We had never been apart longer than one night and me and Jessie would cuddle upset because we missed you so much. After a couple of days and Nicola Danson brought you to the hospital Jessica was a different girl. Jess had gone through an awful lot in those couple of days but the day you was coming it was like everything is ok. We get to see our Em! We was both so excited to see you just as you was with us and it was a beautiful day even if it was just sat playing mini connect four over and over whilst there was a constant row of beeps in the background!
