Anthony Ryland Davies
A dearly loved member of the family…
Born on September 9, 1983, to parents Anne and Les, and brother to Jordan, Anthony spent his childhood in Aigburth and attended St Michael's in the Hamlet Primary School, followed by St Margaret's. After leaving education, he worked in various roles, including at Home & Bargain and Lunn Poly travel agents.
Around the age of 19 or 20, Anthony chose to pursue further education and secured an apprenticeship as a plumber, following a job managing swimming facilities at private flats near Sefton Park. He later relocated to Hereford for a position in solar panel installation, yet he made sure to return to Liverpool every weekend.
Anthony met his future wife, Lisa, at a house party the day after his birthday. He often said he fell in love with her at first sight, which led him to leave his job in Hereford to be closer to her. The couple celebrated their anniversary on September 10th, a date solidified when Anthony proposed to Lisa on 09/10/2015, and they wed in Las Vegas exactly one year later.
Anthony was a beloved figure with many friends and was known for his popularity, but at the core of his life was his family, which was his everything. This included Jaxxy the dog, whom Anthony adored despite his playful denials. And when his daughter Georgia was born, she truly became the apple of her daddy's eye.
A loving husband and daddy.
Anthony was not one to openly display his emotions and wear his heart on his sleeve. Yet, the depth of his affection for his daughter was unmistakable from the instant he glimpsed the pink slip inside the envelope, following a private scan with Lisa.
The plan was to unveil the envelope at a gender reveal party with the soon-to-be grandparents later that day, but Anthony's excitement got the better of him! He peeked inside the envelope during the car ride home from the appointment, with Lisa at the wheel.
To merely say that Georgia was doted on by her father would be a gross understatement! The likelihood of him upholding Lisa’s 'no sweets' rule was non-existent - he even kept a hidden stash of treats in his desk drawer!
His firm rule against sharing food? He happily abandoned it, but only for his daughter. For Anthony, nothing was more important than spending time with his family, particularly with Lisa and Georgia.
Be it adventurous days at the Safari Park or cozy afternoons watching TV in bed, Anthony cherished every moment with them.
“His Journey’s
just begun”
By Ellen Brenneman
Don't think of him as gone away
his journey's just begun,
life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched...
for nothing loved is ever lost
and he was loved so much.
A rarity in himself
Anthony was employed at CP Hood for nine years. He earned the trust and respect of all his colleagues and friends at work. His managers noted that they never received a single complaint about him, whether from clients, other contractors, or anyone else on site—a rarity, they mentioned. Whenever anyone would ask Anthony for advice, he would consistently include at least one lengthy word (like 'subsequently') in his answer.
Anthony was an immensely lovable character; to know him was to love him. He was a gentle giant, never aggressive or nasty, but rather a huge softie brimming with love. The love we hold for someone doesn't perish with them; it stays within us for as long as we live.
Anthony’s wife (Lisa) has since established a specialist bereavement charity dedicated to assisting children under 5 who are dealing with significant loss. Please support us by following our social media, the links to which can be found on our website.

An honour…
There is no doubt we will miss Anthony in every endeavour we undertake. His smile and compassionate heart will continue to inspire us, urging us to keep going on those hard days. As we await to see him again in the peaceful eternal rest, we may take this chance to listen to a song Anthony loved, as we reflect and celebrate the life of Anthony Ryland Davies, the man we have all been so lucky to of known and had in our lives.
May you rest in eternal peace Anthony.
